If you are looking for something "arty" to do after church on Sunday, October 14th, why not check out the Metchosin Art Show where our own Bonnie Rennie will have some of her art featured and for sale.
The art show is going to be at the Metchosin Community Hall - one block from "My Chosen Cafe" in beautiful downtown Metchosin.
On November 9th, Gordon Ford moved from Victoria General Hospital to residence in Glennwarren Lodge.
The policy of VIHA is that once you are on a waiting list for a nursing home you must take the first opening available to you or else be put back at the bottom of the waiting list. After one month you may then apply and wait for a transfer to the facility of your choice. This means that early in December Gordon will be waiting for an opening at The Priory where he will be closer to Evelyn, their family and the Westside family as well.
Please pray for the Ford family as together they face this this huge adjustment in life.
Dave Cook is recovering in hospital after having a heart attack yesterday (Friday, October 29).
Dave was admitted to Royal Jubilee Hospital after experiencing chest pains at work. Doctors operated and cleared two blocked arteries. As you can see from the accompanying picture, Dave is resting comfortably in RJH's Cardiac Care Unit where apparently they have the largest TV remotes in the universe.
Let's keep Dave, his wife Linda, and their children Matthew, April, and Nathan in our prayers as Dave recovers and is released maybe as soon as tomorrow.
Today's morning service has been cancelled due to the blizzard.
Enjoy the beauty and wonder of God's beautiful, white creation today - even if that means just looking out the window at it!
Don't forget to read your Bible and spend some time in prayer too.
And why not catch up on or listen again to a sermon or service you missed in recent weeks. Here are a few links to recent and distant Christmas themed recordings on the church web site:

This weekend is Thanksgiving. As usual everyone is invited to bring harvest items to add to the harvest display on the table at the front of the church - just be there to do so 10 minutes before the service starts (which by the way is 10:30am). After the service you are free to retrieve your items and take them home - or you can leave them and they'll go to someone worthy.
Also If you would like to make an extra donation to Westside's Thanksgiving Love Offering (to be given to a family in need of help or encouragement) please place it in the offering this Sunday morning and mark it "Thanksgiving". You may also give to this offering via Paypal on Westside's donate page.
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
