Westside's Year 2000 Time CapsuleWith the digging up of the year 2000 time capsule, Westside's 20th Anniversary weekend is upon us!

We're looking forward to a great weekend of looking back on God's blessings over the past 20 years.  The festivities get a start Saturday morning at 8:00am when men's breakfast meets again at Royal Roads Cafe.  AGC President Bill Fietje (who is arrive in Victoria late Friday night) will be joining us.

Then later at noon on Saturday everyone is invited to the Rados farm at 1650 Charlton Road (no dogs please) for a potluck lunch barbecue and afternoon of fellowship, horse rides, chickens, rope swing, trampolining and generally hanging out.  The meat and buns are provided so please bring a salad or a dessert.

On Sunday at 10:30am we're having our anniversary service with a number of special features - including (but not limited to) a good old fashion Westside mid-service smoke break (we'll explain then) and opening the year 2000 time capsule.

We hope you'll join us on this weekend of celebration and rejoicing.

The AGC Quebec annual meeting on March 13th was a great time of praise and challenge from Jay Pinney (Quebec coordinator of Church Planting Canada) to enlarge our vision as a church family. We appreciated the hospitality of our hosts Église Biblique Pierre Angulaire.

The 2010 Canada West Conference was a time of great blessing!  Pastor Rob Cochrane and the people of the Church of the Open Bible in Swift Current, along with President Phil Ruten and Millar College, were our gracious hosts for March 11-14.

At this Conference we focused on Living Grace: Becoming A People of Grace and were ministered to by Rev. Lane Fusilier, the Senior Pastor of Philpott Memorial Church, one of our AGC churches in Hamilton ON, as he lead us in considering this biblical focus.  Lane is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, and has been a pastor and teacher for over 30 years.

The Conference report book can be downloaded here: Reports - CW Conference 2010

Thanks to all who joined us for great time of fellowship, joy and ministry!

As we pray for the needs of the AGC this month our focus is on the Canada East region in particular our churches throughout Ontario. Nearly two thirds of all of the AGC churches in Canada are situated in Ontario with the majority of these being in the south western part of the province. This was the birth place of the AGC eight decades ago and continues to be a major center of AGC activity.

Please pray for George Boyd who along with his wife Cynthia does a masterful job of ministering to the pastors and churches in this region.

As Regional Superintendent George has many responsibilities, one of which is to care for the needs of our churches. He does this in concert with the church staff, leadership teams and boards. George's goal is to help create the vision of the AGC of Canada... "Being a movement of healthy reproducing churches".

George Boyd is well suited for this important role. He has been a church planter in Winnipeg (Southside Bible) as well as having served as the Senior Pastor of Calvary Church in Saskatoon for twelve years. George earned a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary specializing in the area of preaching. George brings these gifts and experiences to the work but his greatest asset is his passionate love for Jesus and his unwavering dedication to the scriptures.

As we pray this month let us focus on Ontario, on the many churches and church plants. Pray for George, Cynthia and their three grown boys. This month's Presidents Comments on the web will feature an interview with George ... please take time to get to know George and to pray for him as you watch.

Blessings,

Dr. Bill Fietje

President

Dr. Bill Fietje

Président
