Westside Bible Church celebrated its first Hobby Fair yesterday. Five people shared their hobbies with others. All of the artists went out of their way to share their precious hobby with others. They purchased supplies, organized the lesson and patiently guided people through the afternoon.

Downstairs, Karina Buikema and Martha McGachie had the tables lined with the ingredients for making several kinds of sushi. Karina and Martha lived in Japan for many years so their expert knowledge of this delicious food craft provided women of Westside an authentic cooking lesson.

Norma Millar makes exquisite greeting cards. She patiently shared this delicate craft with other women during the afternoon. Six equally patient women worked with Rubber Stamps, Ornare, Paper Punch, Embossing, Paper Tole, Mod Podge, and Water Colour Pencils to design their cards.

According to Charles Yokimas, those of us who enjoyed his mountain landscape painting class are supposed to call ourselves painters, not artists or hobbyists. Therefore, as painters and under excellent tutelage, we painted a mountain scene in oils. Each painting was unique and amazingly, quite good.

Steve Morely is renowned in Victoria for his expertise in robotics. What a blessing to have him share his enjoyment of technology with the people at Westside. In addition to the male gender type people who took this class, two cool grandmothers and one even more cool granddaughter learned how to make a robot in one afternoon! Terrific!

Dennis McMillan, Pastor Tim and Delores Mason played several games of cribbage. Despite the fact that Pastor Tim kept winning all the time, everyone had fun.
